So I am doing a 4 person show at the Harold Golden Gallery in Miami comming up in Jan 2008. Here is one of the paintings I am working on for the show

Working on new paintings

well a year ago I posted a sketch for this painting so I though I should post the progress of it.
I know I am a slacker and have not posted much lately but I am bussy in the studio now.

Excess Opening

I am back from Palm Springs and recovered for the most part. What a wild time it has been. Back in may I decided I wanted to move my art into a new direction so I dropped everything I had been working on to explore it. I am very happy with the new direction. My only disappointment was that I only had 7 paintings that reflect this. 2 weeks ago Katie and I packed up the van and drove the paintings to Palm Springs. What a long trip that was. This last weekend was much more relaxing. We flew to Ontario on Friday then took a leisurely drive to Palm Springs, what is normally a 60 min drive some how took us 4 hours. We checked in to our hotel and relaxed. On Saturday we got up and meet friends for brunch at the resort then off to the spa for a massage. The evening was wild the companion show was a tribute to the movie “Valley of the Dolls” and had been written up in all the gay mags in palms springs so it had a huge turn out. After the reception there was a birthday party for Jamie Kabler (the guy who developed the 24 hr Hollywood diet). Let me tell you this was the wildest most over the top party I have ever been to. It was the kind of party you see in movies and think that that do not really ever happen like that. It really was a gay mans dream party with drag queens and beefcake male go go dancers every where. I think that aside from Katie and I there where two other straight couple and that was it, man was it an experience, Very fun and cool.
I posted some picts of the reception and party in my photos section of the site. Unfortunately the camera battery died after about 5 min at the party so you don not get to see how crazy it really was but you get the idea a bit.

Leave me a message

So a while back I decided to close the comments to my blog because I was getting a lot of comment spam. I have a dilemma though I liked seeing and hearing comments. I have added this new feature to the site, if you have Skype then you can leave me a voice message. How cool is that. Check out the blue button after each post that says leave me a message. Click the button and go to town. I will be sure to hear them and get back to you. I know I have been a bit of a slacker with the blog post lately but I try  I will be sure to listen to your comments and try to answer them here if you like.

back to the grind stone

it has been a few weeks since my last post I am trying to get back into the swing of posting here on a regular basis but its hard. It was a hard time dealing with the loss of Titan he was truly my best bud. I am so glad I had katie here. The next day after I lost titan I found out that my aunt had died in the shower that morning. it was a crazy week.

A few months ago we bought a letter press and I found a place to make plates from my line art so I am thinking I will try to do some letter press prints for my show at M Modern in September. I have been working away on new paintings here. It is not going as fast as I would like but changing directions took a lot out of me so I am really late starting but on the good side I am really happy with the new stuff. I was thinking about posting some images here but I think I am still going to hold off a bit longer.
